Very good and interesting!
It deals with a lot of topics that I am intrested in and it does it in a really fun way! Following Sophie and Langdons adventure and see how they figure out all the cods was really cool!

This book took me FOREVER to get through…it just wasn’t my thing. It got me thinking and there were certainly parts that surprised me, but it didn’t thrill me.

My dad told me that each line of this book could be turned into it's own movie. He was wrong.

It was pretty good and informative but nothing spectacular. In the beginning especially, they explained the history of almost every place they went to. Some of it ended up being relevant but there was a lot of info dumping. That being said, I think it was the best option for such a info heavy book and I liked the ending.

For a book about the sacred feminine, there was a lack of women. I would've liked some more female characters. Sophie ended up barely doing anything.

The twist was ok. I guessed that it was him near the end but it took a lot of sudden info dumping to get there.

I can't believe that Sophie ignored her grandpa for ten years bc of one sex ritual.

The Da Vinci Code is an excellent novel that makes you think about the history and symbology of many religions, specifically Christianity, and not just accept that what you believe is true. The rituals, architecture & secret societies are all factual and took place in real life, which further leaves the reader in awe of the tale. The use of various artworks and powerful icons such as Leonardo da Vinci and Isaac Newton is also cleverly done. Some of the rituals done by the secret societies can be questionable at first, but once you understand the symbology behind them, it makes more sense. An excellent read for readers who love puzzles, conspiracy theories, treasure hunts & finding meaning in seemingly obvious places.

This is definitely my favorite book of the year so far. It was a thrilling treasure hunt adventure written in a way that made me feel like I was watching an action tv show. The twists and turns were gripping, shocking, and entertaining as hell.

However, I cannot give it the covetted 5 star rating. This book suffers from what I like to call "The Outer Banks Syndrom". Where a simple false accusation that could've been cleared up in court instead turned into a very long and dramatic police chase where the innocent people commit actual crimes just to avoid being caught. It's silly, but you just have to suspend disbelief for the sake of an entertaining as hell story. I also personally
agree with Teabing that the grail should be publicized. I don't agree with how he did it, but I thought the book was going to end with them finding the "treasure" releasing it to the public, and the world is changd for the better forever. Instead the author decided to keep the world the same. I just wish it went a little more fictional at the end.

Overall though, this was an incredibly fun read and I don't know why I waited so long to read it. It's just better National Treasure.
