4 stars. A lot of people disliked this book and also the movie. That wasn't the case with me, fortunately. I enjoyed both. However, there were some parts in this book from which I wanted more. More informations, more thoughts. Hopefully we will get the answers in the next one.

On the other hand, there were also many things I liked about this book, I had a good opportunity to see what are some characters thinking (mostly Rey) and why they did what they did. Not to mention I enjoyed the beginning of the book, where Leia was giving a speech about Han. Also, how Leia mention Ben, what kind of child he was and how he was always running after his dad, Han. That was truly heartwarming.

As for the plot, it followed the movie almost the same but with some more scenes and lines which I enjoyed the most. Hence, the expanded edition, which in my opinion were only the added photos in the book.

Like the movie, this was simply beautiful. I loved it.

Basically, this book takes the story of The Last Jedi, adds some internal character monologues, a bit more world-building, and removes some of the cringe-worthy humor. Overall, I liked the film quite a bit, but think the book makes it better.

Not thrilled with the movie or the book but... Star Wars

Probably one of the best Star Wars movie novelizations I've ever read. TFA's pales in comparison and I sincerely hope Fry is considered for IX.

Good adaptation

This was a pretty good adaptation of one of my favourite Star Wars movies. I enjoyed some of the extra scenes that we didn't get to see in the movie, as well as some internal monologues. The parts about Snoke and some of the history behind the First Order was quite interesting.

My only two dislikes of this book is that the POV jumps around a lot mid section and chapter. It's clearly indicated most of the time, but occasionally got a little confusing.
Second, some important scenes felt like they happened a bit too fast, or the lack of the soundtrack and visual imagery lessened the impact of the scene.

Overall: Recommended

Star wars was not always such a big thing for me. But after i saw the new sequels and got over the initial hatred all fans had about a new star wars, I was in love. For a number of reasons. I am so thrilled to be able to be in the middle of all the excitement instead of going up to people and saying ‘look what i found. This amazing new series’ and then them saying ‘yes, very nice Kylie. That has been out for five years and everyone already knows about it’. It was always so depressing. But here I am loving the sequels and OMG. This book. There are so many things i want to say. Most of them would be spoilers however. And other things i would rather not mention in case of what happens in rise of Skywalker. I might come back and change this later. I just love the new star wars so unexpectedly.
