This story is so unique and the relationship built between the MC and their siblings was interesting. There is so much nuance in the dynamics and the way they progress throughout the book is compelling. I do wish there was more information about the surrounding areas, though it’s not that important for the story. But the detail about the family’s life was really strong. The ending was satisfying, and leaves you in a place to want to know how things will end up.

I went into this book thinking it was a fantasy romance, however I would say it's more like a YA fantasy that has romance!

Things I really enjoyed
- the setting and the plot
- our main characters relationships and how trauma affects those.
- the overall concept!

What didn't work for me
- the forbidden romance, it just felt like insta love.

I will strongly be recommending this one to older YA readers. I thought this was really fun!

3.5 stars for now
Like, honestamente pienso que this could have been way longer. It feels slightly underdeveloped and a bit like a draft. It's not poorly written by any means but the pacing makes certain bits boring. If we're not going to focus on events happening, then I'd rather we really focus on character dynamics, but that was also lacking.

The dialogue was stilted at times as well, but I still found myself enjoying it.

And this story has like great potential!!!

This book had tyranny, fanatics, violence, love and rebellion. Leda is a Counterpart to her half sister Azaria. Azaria’s destiny is to kill Leda to show her loyalty to the realm. With rumours of rebels reaching the kings ears, he brings forward the ceremony to please the gods and demonstrate Azarias readiness to lead and conquer. Leda’s plans for escape slowly diminish and her only comfort is books and the royal tutor Pyrrhus who agrees to teach her about the world while she has a few months to live.
This was a brilliant read and highly recommend to those who enjoy historical fantasy with a side of romance. Lots of twists and turns of characters who play cards close to their chest. Frustrated that I have to wait for book 2. This will be an amazing series.

I was drawn in from the start of this book - which is not always the case! I felt like I wanted to know more about Leda (FMC) and where her story was going to lead. I appreciated that it included action and some humor. It was exciting throughout and I can't wait for the next book!.
