first off, I FIGURED IT OUT!!!! ok, I didn't know all the details of how/why, but I had this gut instinct who it was and I was right. There was a great diversion by the author that ALMOST swayed me, but it didn't!

I love this series set in a small town in Texas and I feel like the characters are my friends and neighbors. great writing!

This is a delightful series. It's one of my favorites. Sweet small-town setting, intriguing premise, excellent characters with a touch of mystical that makes it extra special.
This time around, Harlow is busy working on her mother's wedding dress and getting ready for a horde of designers and their models along with a magazine writer to descend on her town of Bliss. She is one of three Texas designers to be featured in an article that will help set her up for even more success. There's also the blooming romance between her and Will.
Then suspicious death intrudes and Harlow is in the thick of investigating since she's one of the suspects. It also happened at her house/shop.
It's a busy book but it flows nicely. Plenty to keep the pages turning as fast as possible to see what's going to happen next. I would like to visit Bliss and meet Harlow and her family, living and ghostly.
I can absolutely recommend this book, series and author.

All Harlow wants to do is get her mother married. And enjoy her time as being one of three designers being featured as "up-and-coming." Of course, it's not helpful that one of the designers turns out to be an old acquaintance of both Harlow and her friend Orphie (who just showed up at 2 o'clock in the morning). The man turns out to be just as much of a PITA as he ever was. And it seems like he might still be cadging designs from others. It comes as no shock to the reader when he dies in Harlow's house.
Is Harlow under suspicion? Of course, she had a blow-out with the deceased. But it's not like the sheriff is hurting for suspects.
This is a good series but it's starting to suffer from something I've been noticing more often in romances. Every past character has to pop up in some way. People, frankly characters I didn't even remember, were uncomfortably shoe-horned into the story. It took away from the story and just created bloat.

Harlow Jane Cassidy has her hands full planning and making the dresses for her mother’s wedding, her old friend Orphie has come to visit and one of her biggest dreams in coming true – her designs are going to be featured in big time magazine spread. She has things under control until a rival fashion designer dies in her shop, Buttons & Bows. Then a near miss shows Orphie may also be in danger.

Harlow has no choice but to untangle the clues and find a killer if she has any hope of saving her friend, the wedding and her business. She is going to need more than her charm to save the day this time!

Dollycas’s Thoughts
I grew up in a family of seamstresses so this series is one of my favorites. I was thrilled to see Harlow getting some recognition for her creations. Harlow, her mom, and MeeMaw just touch my heart stirring up fond memories of my own family.

Bourbon has created magical characters and Button & Bows is a dressmaker’s dream shop. She stitches them together with an enchanting mystery sure to please all cozy lovers.

In this installment Orphie comes to town with her own share of troubles. Harlow’s mother, like all Cassidy women, is STUBBORN, especially when it comes to her daughter, and it puts the wedding in jeopardy. Gracie is having some trouble adjusting to her charm. All this plus some snooty designers and their snotty models show up from out of town for a photo shoot and all heck beaks loose. Hold on tight, this Custom-Fit Crime will have you on pins and needles from the first page to the last.

When I'd first returned home to Bliss, Texas, I thought my hometown would be just as peaceful as it was when I was a little girl.

This is the fourth book in the Magical Dressmaking Mystery series. Harlow is busy working on her mother's wedding dress and finalizing her collection for an upcoming magazine spread when her old roommate Orphie shows up unexpectedly. Orphie is in Bliss to confess a transgression regarding their former employer and gets caught up in the whirlwind of the designers involved in the article. A particularly obnoxious designer dies in Harlow's shop and everyone becomes a suspect.

This is one of my favorite series. I love the continued storyline of the "charms" passed down to the Cassidy women from Butch Cassidy. Harlow's great-grandmother haunts the house Harlow inherited from her. Her grandmother has a way with animals especially goats. Her mother has a serious green thumb. Harlow can picture an outfit that is perfect for someone. And now Gracie, Harlow's boyfriend's daughter and distant cousin, can see events when she touches vintage clothing.

I enjoy the interaction between the Cassidy women. You just know that Harlow will do everything in her power to make sure her mom marries Sheriff Hoss McClaine even though the wedding is called off after Hoss investigates Harlow. The love at first sight between Orphie and Gavin is unexpected and a nice change for his character. I am so happy that Harlow and her sweetie, Will Flores are moving forward with their relationship. Perhaps more wedding bells are ringing?

The story revolving around stealing designs from other designers is well done. You really do suspect everyone at some point. A very good addition to the series. I look forward to reading the next book.

First of all, I love this series. It ticks all the boxes for me: good mysteries, great characters, great setting, humour, quirkiness, ghosts and charms. I love the ever evolving backstory of Bliss.

What to say about this book in particular? I'm not sure. It was a good story, with really clever plot-lines (although the primary plot line murderer was the one I suspected). I loved where Harlow and Will are heading and I really get a kick out of his daughter. But for some reason, this book just felt flatter than the others and I can't really say why.

Did I enjoy reading it? Yes, though not as much as the previous ones. Would I recommend this series? Have done and will continue to rave about it. But I wouldn't recommend that anyone read this book as an introduction to the series (although if they do, they can look forward to all the rest of the books being even better!

On the plus side, the next one comes out 9 months from now, instead of a year. Woot!
