like the ideas are so intriguing but the execution is just…. the smut is so… bad…. i liked the brief discussion of like abandonment issues it just feels like this whole story needs to be longer

Not gonna lie, this was not exactly what I was expecting. The twist at the end was cool, I guess I wish there was more of that throughout the book, and there are still a plot hole or two that haven't been addressed - like Luo Binghe noticing that his shizun knows too much, for example. I'm hoping that's something I get to look forward to in vol 4.
I really liked the side characters in this, the unraveling of the backstories, the original Shen Qingqiu's bitter story, the exploration of Luo Binghe's mental state. That said, the ending still left me a bit unsatisfied. But I am glad I got to binge this series! It was so worth it.
