Worst of the three, but still addictive enough to lose sleep. Suspenseful events seemed thrown in as afterthoughts. Is this erotica or mystery? Dipping in both shortchanged both. Though, what can I say? I did read it, as opposed to putting it down, which I could have, but couldn't.
This was by far the best book of the trilogy. Everything finally came together and Christian became a bit more "normal".
I really don't know why I forced myself to finish the series... Ana never grows a brain or a backbone.
This one was by far the worst of the three. although it had a few exciting moments, the sex got old really quick.
Kind of disappointing compared to the other books. The content wasn't really up to the par of the previous two books and the end felt rushed and unfinished. I wasn't expecting to get a glimpse into the future and certainly not another kid. Although that ending was sweet the epilogue contained a young Christian which was a nice addition. But Christians pov at the end of him and Anna meeting was just very ... Unpolished. I feel like it was all too rushed. But at last it is over. And I do still love Christian Grey.
This book felt like it dragged a bit compared to the other books. It was really nice that there was so much action and side stuff happening but felt like it took a while to fully end. I think the ending was very appropriate and was a good conclusion for Ana and Christian.
This was a nice way to conclude the series. I enjoyed getting a sneak peek at Christian and I wonder if we'll get to read something like Fifty Shades Himself. The steam had worn off by the end. I guess that I need more variety. It seemed like every passionate scene was the same. Plus, she brought back "my sex". I could have done without that. Overall, I'm glad I spent a week getting to know Ana and Christian.
In this book, James jumped back and forth, this book begins after the wedding on the honeymoon with flashbacks of little scenes pre-honeymoon. There was an argument James keeps referring to, the wedding vow argument, and she never tells that story (very frustrating!). There is still too much sex too often. I really enjoyed this plot line, however spending so much time jumping back and forth in the past/present and the not really kinky sex scenes, James wasn't able to build more on the story to make it better.
You find out that Ana is pregnant in the last 1/3 of the book and from there it is rushed. James could really have gotten a fourth book out of this series if she didn't force so much together in this one. I hate that the only thing she really shows with teh pregnancy and Christian is the horrid reaction he has and then, because of Ana putting herself in danger, he has almost a complete change of heart. I said almost because he still has issues right? Once that happens, James jumps straight to 2 years after Ana has the baby, with only a quick "recap" of the birth, leaving me wanting.
When it is two years after Ted's birth, Christian seems a completely different person, a loving and attentive father and husband, but because James skips ahead so far and rushed we miss the journey Christian and Ana traveled that got Christian to that place. I for one would really have liked to experience that story. I just think James could have done better.
