3.5. I enjoyed the setting and the road-trip style plot that was reminiscent of the first book, and I loved Rhagos. I especially love how thoughtful, careful, and clever he had to be with his words because he was the Lies aspect. But speaking of, it’s unbelievable to me that Max didn’t figure that out sooner. I knew from their first conversation that he was Lies. For the first half of the book, Max is so unbelievably dumb and oblivious. She draws every possible wrong conclusion and she has very little emotional maturity. She improves as the book goes on, but it still really detracted from the story. Overall I still enjoyed this, though, because at the end of the day I’m a sucker for any god of death/hades love story.
I liked this one better than the first. Entertaining but a bit long.

I love Rhagos - love that he was a bit inspired by Kylo Ren and Hades - love love love LOVE.
buuuuuut, the second book in the series fell a bit short compared to Bound to the Battle God. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a solid 3.5, but I had a really hard time liking Max’s character.
either way, it was a fun read with fantasy, plot, substance, and most importantly, romance

it was Max. she was horrible and I had to pull teeth to get through legitimately 80% of the book because of her.
