1 🌟 for the story
1 🌟 for Ragos
-3 🌟 for Max
I have absolutely NEVER hated an FMC as much as I hate Max. 🙃 I nearly gave up on the book because of her. She only gets better at like ch60, and theres 78 chapters... Soooo yeah, I loved book 1 and now wish I never got book 2...

Would’ve enjoyed it much more if it weren’t for the self-righteous FMC lead.

This is probably top 5 books of all time for me. I love Max and Rhagos and how they have to struggle and grow together.
I know this one won't be for everyone, but I absolutely love it.

Death God bribes the Fates for a busty blonde anchor, and gets scrawny nerdy Max. Miscommunications and misadventures abound.
Waited too long to write this, but I genuinely enjoyed most of it. Max is incredibly dense when the story needs her to be, and I absolutely hate that, but his complete and utter devotion kind of made it better?
While still an adventure, this is radically different, infinitely lower-adrenaline, and much more generic romantasy than Bound to the Battle God. I had fun, breezed through it, but I can't even remember his name two weeks later.
Also, can we just discuss that Max's nerdom seems to be confined to Pokemon Go?

Listen, I’ve realized this series (and others like it) are my trashy reality TV. And I have no regrets.
I don’t know, something about this is just like so cozy and comforting to me? Like I find myself unable to put it down, and I’m really into this world building and the mythical elements here! Is it like particularly well done and very high level? No. But it’s so enjoyable I don’t even care.
Max is arguably super annoying, more so than Faith. She’s also super naive, and that’s definitely like a major plot point here.
Rhagos felt very different than Aron, and I actually liked that. I was worried that they’d feel too similar, but I think Dixon did a really good job of differentiating them. There are definite similarities, but I think it’s because Rhagos went into this with a certain mission that it becomes clear that he is obsessed with Max like immediately.
Did I figure out which Aspect Rhagos was like immediately? Yes. So I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop and Max to learn. And I get why Dixon made it last so long, but I was screaming at Max for being so dumb! However, I really liked the lead up to the reveal for the Anticipation re-do. Based on the first chapter I kind of knew where it was heading, but definitely did not know the lengths Rhagos went to!
Will I be continuing with this series? Duh. There’s crack in this and I’m unashamedly into it.

This book had me sobbing! It is my favorite of the series. Rhagos just broke my heart. He was such a sad and lonely god. Reminded me of Kim Shin from Guardian: The Lonely and Great God which is my favorite K-Drama ever. The character development of both Rhagos and Max was wonderful and well done.

I am frustrated, mad, stressed, and flat out irritated that I read this book. When I read bound to the battle god I wanna absolutely captivated by the world and the characters. Faith has a few eye brow raising moments but overall was a strong, compelling and entertaining character who made a great combination with Aron.
Max was infuriating. Absolutely fist shaking jumping up and down tantrum throwing worthy level of naive and frustrating and absolutely painful. She made no sense and it was almost like she was a caricature of a naive, trusting, optimist quirky girl and it felt so so overdone and just bad. Also this man lied to her for an entire book and she sweeps it under the rug because she understands why. It actually made my brain break. I’m still frustrated. I give it two stars because it was pleasant exploring the world again but that was it. I also really did enjoy Rhagos as a character even though he was selfish and self serving.
