Lots of red flags in the beginning especially in regards to fat shaming, but it settled itself as the story went. Doesn't really reinvent the wheel, but enjoyable.

This could have benefited from an additional 100 pages to leave room for more development - especially in regards to Benny. For all his fears about coming out, we're supposed to be satisfied with him suddenly having a boyfriend off-screen without any hitch? False.

BUT. I love the "romantic" choice by the end of this book. GREAT ENDING AUTHOR.

Every time I pick up one of Elizabeth Eulberg's books I don't think it can be better than her last one. She continues to prove me wrong. Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality blew me away.

I honestly don't even know where to start with this book. I finished this book a couple of weeks ago and I've struggled to write a review because I can't put it all into words. This is one of those books that I want to hug and not share with anyone unless they promise to love it but I also want to stand in the YA section and hand it to everyone that walks passed. In an attempt to not ramble/gush too much I'm just going to make a list of what I loved about this book.

-Lexi. I couldn't believe how much I connected with her. One of my favorite things about reading is finding characters like Lexi. It's a beautiful moment in a book when you meet a character and say "Oh, I know you."
-Lexi's friends (the real ones) made me smile and remind me of the wonderful people I have in my life as a support system.
-Elizabeth's ability to recreate that awkward high school experience amazes me. She does it time and time again in her books. The angst, the social pressure, the drama, the fun- it's all there in this book and it makes me very glad that I can relive those days from afar. (Those weren't my best years- awkward was an understatement for me.)
-This book deals with some really tough issues. Issues that made me cry. What I love about Elizabeth's writing is that she isn't afraid to tackle these issues and that she tackles them with humor. I think I love this because that's how I deal with most things in my life. To quote another writer I admire- “Make it dark, make it grim, make it tough, but then, for the love of God, tell a joke.” ~Joss Whedon. Elizabeth does this exact thing and it makes for brilliant story telling.
-The humor- I know I mentioned this in the last comment but aside from the humor in the serious situations there is a lot of funny that happens day to day. Any book that deals with child beauty pageants is bound to be humorous- RGGP does not disappoint in the laugh out loud moments.

Ok, I'm going to stop there because if I don't this review is going to be out of control. Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality is a book that I wish I had read in high school. The message in this book is one that every single person needs. The day that we realize that a great personality is the most important thing is the day we become free. The earlier in life we understand that concept the luckier we are. Go buy this book today!! You won't regret it!

so much potential in the premise and the overall idea of this book, but overall i was pretty let down at the character development and the plot. i was really hoping to like this, too!

I loved Lexi. Her friends were also super cool, and I loved how supportive of her they were. I liked her little sister Mac, and I'm glad they're closer now. It was fun to see the pageant world and its horrors, and I laughed at it. I liked the tried-and-true makeover trope. It was fun and I actually think Lexi liked makeup somewhat. I really liked Taylor, and in future I think they'd be cute together. I liked that this was a quick read that resolved nicely. I loved Lexi's little speech towards the end. Bitch remover! LOL! Now, onto her parents. I hated her mom. I didn't like her dad very much, but I got where he was coming from more. I would definitely read a sequel to this book, because it was funny, well-written, and had a great message without being super preachy (ok, so it was a little preachy, but with a book involving seven-year-old pageant queens, that's to be expected).

I have to be honest. This book was... so funny! I couldn't get enough of all the fabulous descriptions. I felt like Eulberg took bits and pieces of my life and made it into a fabulously witty book. I loved it! Very well done. A must read and definitely a re-read!

3.5 stars. Cute book, but very predictable. Fun as a bit of escapism, but would like to know how things ended up in the aftermath. I like that the main character got to see that being the girl with the “great personality” isn’t so bad after all.

it was a good book but..... too much drama in a short period of time
lighthearted reflective fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This book really wasn't bad. I actually did enjoy it. The only reason that my rating is so low is because of Mac's and Lexi's mother. I can't stand her. What really pushed me over the edge was when she stole money from Lexi and then hit her when Lexi confronted her about it. That plus all the pageant stuff with Mac is enough to drive anyone crazy. if the mother wasn't as nutty and annoying as she was my rating would have been hire.

Fastest I’ve ever finished a book lmaoo. Honestly love this book and won’t say much about it but just remember to always be your true self <3
