This is an enjoyable book, as long as you don't think about it too much.

This book is a total mind f*ck. I read it back when I was 12 and it blew my mind then.

I enjoyed reading this book, and I can see why it would hold such a special place in peoples hearts. It was fun, quirky, and had the right amount of suspense for middle grade. I thought that the characters and the ideas were really interesting but I just could not get over Meg's whiney attitude. It just felt that at every turn Meg was the one doing the complaining and had to be dragged along. Even when she
had to go and save her brother she had to have basically the whole crew give her a pep talk about it.

I think if I had read this as a child, I would have really loved it. As an adult that has no nostalgia for it, the book was a fun read but I wasn't terribly invested.
