This somehow made ghosts and enemies to lovers boring, and I’m a big fan of both  The plot fell very flat and the relationship didn’t feel properly developed.  I didn’t like any of the characters. Penelope acted like a child all throughout the book - starting with throwing a book at Neil’s head.  Neil was fine but got no character development outside of how Penelope views him and that made me sad for Neil.

Also why is Ghost cum even a thought- thanks I hate it.  I would like to go back to the person I was before hearing that.

Also for anyone who reads reviews before reading a book (unlike me :(. ).  Please don’t read this book as the author was caught pretending to be Native- and is very not native.

So found this one at a local tiny library and decided to pick it up knowing about the controversy of the author this is not a book I would feel comfortable supporting financially but I was curious as to the content of the book, and if it was worthy of the vitriol directed at it due to the authors horrid behavior.

After reading this book all I can say is yikes, knowing the fact the author faked being indigenous some of the content of the book is beyond problematic.
This would be a book I would find frustrating on a good day because the Pen, one of the leads who is a white passing indigenous author who can’t prove she’s indigenous, essentially gets away with assaulting the other lead because she thinks he’s a sell out and his books aren’t indigenous enough, accusing him of having it easy in publishing in spite of said character being a visible minority, and when her friend calls her out on the behavior towards the other lead she dismisses it because “you’re white. You don’t get it”. It’s just yikes after yikes for me. I would have found this questionable to begin with but in context it turns the whole book into something that honestly feels icky.

Please support actual indigenous authors and stories.

I…. really don’t get it lmao. This is just porn with plot. Not even a good one. The conflict is forced, the whole horror thing (horror where???) is forced, the chemistry between Pen & Storm is forced. UgH.

Randomly got this for my birthday and didn’t know anything about the author until I read reviews when I finished it. I am horrified by this woman’s behaviour
