Gorgeous! I love when books live up to the hype and this debut absolutely does! A truly magical book about love, family, friendship, home, grief, and, of course, magic. :)
A truly lovely middle grade novel that had me in tears by the end.
I really liked this one, have heard a bit of Newbery buzz for it. Liked the characters, the fantasy bits didn't get on my nerves. Loved the friendship between the main character and the girl Jenny. Even though he doesn't always want her around and realizes that she is somewhat lacking in the imagination department, he recognizes a true and loyal friend and sticks by her.
Loved this book. Interesting characters, intriguing plot. The idea of magic and children was beautiful. It will be on my shelves and recommended.
Micah's grandfather always told him about the marvellous Circus Mirandus that he'd had the pleasure of visiting when he was a lad, and Micah has always believed the magical story. It was very good. It makes me believe in magic more. Full of adventure.
A book about finding magic and enchantment and courage both in the mundane moments of everyday life and during life's heartbreaking and tragic times.
I would have never learned about this book if I didn't order to read the Bootlace Magician. I went to the library to get a book to read to relax and learned that this was the prequel to Bootlace Magician. I just had to read this first before. It was so worth it. It had me on my toes up to the very end. Great story of imagination and family situations.
