Really loved this! Highly recommend the audiobook format, the multiple narrators make it feel like a documentary.
It’s subtly creepy, but there were several moments that sent chills up my spine.

Loved the connection to the folk movement in England and the spooky ending

The framing device of this story was quite refreshing, but the story drags on here and there and could have been cut down a bit. Overall, it is effective in places and the structure helps it stand out among other mysteries.

This was SO good (for me) - can 100% see why she was chosen to do the sequel to The Haunting of Hill House.
Daisy Jones and the Six for people who thought they'd like Daisy Jones and the Six and didn't.
Fully casted audiobook 10/10 enjoyed this so much.

It is so hard for me to rate this book because I know that all of the issues I had with it are me problems. I didn’t like it at all, but that’s because it’s very much not the style that I like to read. I’m hesitant to rate it low because I know some people really like this style and those people would enjoy it. Mostly I needed more answers. I do not like to be left with such ambiguity. If you are comfortable with having more questions leaving a book than coming into it, then you’re in the right place. I also think it’s hard to nail multi-narrator books like this in such a short span of time. Especially when they’re all young white boy folk musicians. How am I supposed to tell them apart? Jon/Will/Ashton were basically one character in my mind except for little bits. If this is your genre, give it a go! If you like knowing what’s happening in the book you’re reading, I wouldn’t recommend this.
Also, and this is just a personal note, sometimes when stuff is sooooo vague and unfinished it almost feels lazy on the authors part. I’m not accusing this book of that, just ruminating on issues I have with the supernatural genre in general. I feel like there are times when the author knows they aren’t going to explain it, so they just throw stuff in and there is absolutely no way to understand what’s going on no matter how hard you try. If the author doesn’t even know what’s going on, how could we? Maybe that’s a mindset issue that I need to correct and I shouldn’t be such a stickler for reality, but I need at least the person inventing it to understand the world and the rules for me to even try to consider it worthwhile. Again. Not saying that’s necessarily the case here. Just doing some personal thoughts for my records.
Edit: oh and what the heck was that but with Adrianna???

I really loved this format when I read Daisy Jones and the Six. However, for me the male characters weren't distinct enough in their voice/characterization. I found myself flipping back to see who was speaking. I also felt like the spooky stuff was too brief for my taste. I was concerned the format would mean nothing felt scary, but one particularly scene was absolutely chilling. Unfortunately that was really the only scary part.
Overall, I enjoyed the book but it left me wanting more.
