you can definitely tell there’s inspiration being taken from SJM series and Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, but there’s still a lot of novel ideas that are interesting especially parts of the magic system. I’d say parts of the government system and then political ties between people/groups/families/organizations/factions did confuse me and some political motivations in the books got muddy and hard to follow because of that…
BUT overall i had a good time i really liked the two main characters and their dynamic and i loved the pacing of the book for each secret reveal it felt like an enjoyable payoff! i will be tuning into the next one

This was very very fun and I loved it. It was a whole new version of magic that I was very impressed with.

I can usually guess twists, but I was floored by this book.
Nico will bring you to your knees. 🥵
Milla will lift you back up with her audacious humor and wild ways.
The tension, the spice, the world… It’s all so so immersive.
