I wanted to like this, I really did. The premise was exactly what I was looking for in a book... but the writing was just ... not it. I got so tired of being told rather than shown. My final straw was the line, 
"Good," he says, confirming that he is in fact relieved.
The whole book was full of that sort of writing. It felt juvenile, wattpad level.

Amazing!

I normally don't read sci-fi genre anything but decided to read this one based off a recommendation. It was way better than I anticipated and the slow burn was *chef's kiss*. Ferren is one of the most believable FLs I've encountered in a long time. She's not super confident when her journey begins but ends up on a path of self discovery and who better to accompany her than the brooding and steamy 99th Commander? He is everything a ML should be and more. And the spice?
