gave it 4 stars the first time, 5 stars the second time. rereading it now with my life experiences, I connected with the characters more and also really enjoyed the nostalgia of the reread. a really underrated series!
4,5/5

Didn´t really want to write a review, but since most of you seem to have loved the book I just need to say this.
I mostly enjoy books that are overly liked. Never been one of thos people who claim to be better just because they didn´t like a book.
But this is my honest thoughts about immortal beloved.
It started rather okay, with great potential. You just knew she would run away from friends who break peoples spines.
And it wasn´t too bad reading about her spending time at rivers house, learning to love the little things.
But really? like 200 pages of "Oh Rayn is sexy but he hates me, he´s a villian. And Nell is the bitch hating me for him giving me attention"?
Doesn´t sound too bad if it wouldn´t be as fucking boring.
You know some people say there being pulled right into the story
Which was the case for me.
But when you feel even the lead character is bored as fucking hell, how the heck are you supposed to have fun reading.
The idea is also good, but you have no change of daily pattern
You know, sharing a bond with a stone is not as interesting as you might assume.
But I must give it credits though. It wasn´t really boring enough to put it down. I haven´t had the feeling it was badly written either.
It was just, you know, like imagining you were with Nastasja at rivers edge.
Peeling potatoes and taing care of the dishes.
And when the climax is two people kissing and the villian seems to make pranks rather than intend to kill you,
HOW GOOD CAN IT BE.?

November 2018 re-read:
This is honestly one of those books/series I have such a warm, fuzzy, delightful emotional attachment to that never gets old. I love re-reading it.
April 2015 Re-read:
YEP, STILL LOVE IT.
February 2012:
When I picked this up from the library, I didn't have a real idea of what it involved. I just knew it was an interesting sounding paranormal romance novel, and it's been on my TBR list for a while.
Holy cow, I did not expect to be as enraptured by Immortal Beloved as I was in the last day.
I didn't expect it to be a complete character journey. Sure, Nastasya is an immortal and lot of what she does is learning to control and use magick, and sure, there's a bit of a romance aspect to it, but none of that compares to the journey of self-discovery Nastasya goes through. There could be no paranormal aspects about it at all and I'd still enjoy every single page.
If you were truly immortal, how would it change you? How would the weight of hundreds of years of mistakes, joy, pain and indifference change you? What would you do to change yourself for the better, and would you be strong enough to do it? The work Nastasya does to answer these questions (and many more) and to uncover the emotions she's hidden is so interesting and insightful, and while it felt at times that she went in circles with certain ways of thinking, it all felt true to what she was doing.
This was definitely a delightful surprise, and I'm totally grabbing Darkness Falls (book two which just came out last month) as soon as I possibly can.

The first half of this book was kinda boring and it was more of a prologue explaining everything and overall there wasn't really anything happening. I kept reading it because Nasty was incredibly entertaining and her sarcasm made me laugh out loud at times. Enough that I got weird looks from people. By the second half of the book it started to pick up. Miss Tiernan added some twists that were unexpected and I found myself enjoying it more and more. By the last chapter I didn't want it to end!
