Thought this was a great book. The audiobook was even better Bc hearing it in her voice made it hilarious.

I loved this audiobook! Funny, vulgar, unashamed, and surprisingly touching, with important messages too. Review to follow.

Listening to Amy read this was a delight!
The mix of funny and hard stuff from her life was really refreshing. So it felt like I was truly getting to know her! Makes me want to see her live!
4 stars!

hilarious book

More like a 3.5 but rounded up.

Funny and entertaining!

Let me preface this by saying if you don't know who Amy Schumer is and/or do not appreciate her work, do not read this book.

I enjoy Amy Schumer as an actress, so I was really excited when I started to read her book. I have to say, I was disappointed. The book was all over the place and unorganized. I never quite knew exactly what each chapter was about.

However, the book was not all bad. Schumer gave great advice and really strives to empower women. She is relatable and she tells real stories of her struggles in all aspects of life. I love that Schumer really broke down the wall and let the readers in on really personal stories of her life - parts that made her and parts that broke her. Parts of the book were inspiring and were written to build up the power of women.

I read the book in two days. Usually when I read a book that fast it's because I can't put it down, but in this case I just wanted it to be over. I really wanted to love the book because I love Schumer, but I found myself getting bored with it halfway through. I expected a lot more from this book. The stories were not that funny and the writing was messy. I am a sucker for comedian memoirs, but I felt like I was trying so hard to enjoy this book when in reality, it was just OK.

If you LOVE Amy Schumer and want to simply know more about her life, give this book a read. If you're looking for a funny memoir about an actress/comedian, pick a different comedian. The book had its moments, but it definitely is not a personal favorite.

Kudos to Amy Schumer for going deep and unveiling herself. It was so personal that I felt that I am violating someone's privacy.

My favorite parts of the book are her excerpts from her journals. They were really interesting.

It has interesting parts but mostly not, it was dragging.

I never watched Amy Schumer's show but I loved Trainwreck. I thought I'd really like this memoir but it's not funny at all or cohesive. In fact, I didn't laugh once. It's really a series of meandering essays in random order that each turn into a PSA. Gun control, domestic abuse, alcohol and drug abuse, rape, and on and on...

One second, Amy is referring to herself as Long Island Trash and then explaining how much she loves herself. She's truly been through hell but, as she self describes, she's a hypocrite and flaky and she reaffirmed that quite often. We're from the same neck of the woods and she refers to her adventures in my hometown quite often and I was almost offended by the end of it.

I didn't dislike her but I don't like her any more than before after reading this book.
