Audiobook was great. Funny, touching, empowering and feminist.
As a sucker for a good celebrity memoir, I was happy to add this to my "books by female comedians" repertoire. Amy did not disappoint.
The funny parts were funny but she talked a whole lot about her vagina and I don’t care to hear about how random dudes were face deep in hers
After reading The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo, I am even more convinced that Amy and I are the same person, or I would at least like to think so. Without including any spoilers, we share so many similarities which made her book easy to read and relate to. This book is kind of what you would expect from Amy, she's funny at times and also brutally honest at others. Like many other reviewers, I didn't find this book as funny as I thought it was going to be. She starts out the book with a disclaimer that she is not here to offer any advice, but I would say that this book reads more like a self-help book/memoir than a humorous book. She admits that inserting humor into some of the most painful situations or memories is something she has learned to do from a young age but the humor is a garnish/side dish and not the main dish of this book.
At times her stories are utterly heartbreaking and she demonstrates real vulnerability, at other times it reads like a big middle finger to many of the societal norms we perpetuate today.
I particularly liked the sections discussing how she developed into a comedian and the path she had to take to get where she is today. It was consistent with what I have heard from other comedians and experienced myself in the limited stand-up experience that I have. I also appreciate that she did use this platform to do some soap boxing on important issues that need to be called to attention. I was debating between 3/4 stars but ultimately settled on 3 just because I think this book tried to be different things at once without being a grand slam home run but if you love Amy you will enjoy the glimpse into who Amy is behind the big laughs.

Loved this book. The honesty, the mix of humor and straight talk....it was refreshing.
Meh.. Since I like Amy Schumer, I think my expectations for this book were too high. The stories are confusing and send mixed messages to the public. I didn't understand why the author tried to end the chapters in a moral note, and I had a hard time finishing it.
I think Amy Schumer had a very powerful message for every woman daring enough to read her book. I'm kidding! This book will not be nominated for a Noble Prize; however, I think Amy really hit home the message of self love. In between the wit and humor, there was actually a message hidden in there. I really enjoyed reading it and connecting with Amy. She fearlessly (or maybe she was afraid, I don't truly know) exposed her own and her family's struggles and I think it made her much more human and relevant to me. My heart ached when she recounted the story of the Lafayette, LA shooting that occurred at the showing of her movie. I also sympathized with her constant struggle to love herself in a world so focused on a specific perception of beauty. Now that I've read her book, I think I will take a look at some of her work! Can't wait for her 3rd book - Juggling Dicks (you have to read the book to understand)!
I enjoyed this book because I enjoy her comedy. I like Amy because she is not afraid to put it all out there. This book was about her life and what she had to do to get where she is at today. Many people are afraid to tell about their past and admit thier mistakes.
We all need to be a little like Amy in that retrospect.

I love and respect the hell out of Amy Schumer but just writing "sistas" after everything doesn't make it funny. Her reading of the CD is unbearable.
This was pretty funny! I enjoyed reading this from Amy Schumer.
