there is simply no better writing on the subject than ilan pappe, and if there is he has not been born yet, and this book is the evidence. picked up because ive previously read 'ten myths' and his book on modern palestine - if it is a topic you are unfamiliar with, he offers unflinching bias in a world of 'ifs' and 'complex', very informative and easy to access.

It's going to be a bit of a slog if you're not used to reading nonfiction, but Pappé's work is always meticulous in describing historical contexts for present-day atrocities.
