Not quite as griping and surprising as previous JP Delaney books but was a good quick easy read. Finished it in an evening after work.
Thank you Netgalley and Quercus for an advance copy of this ebook in exchange for an honest review.
After the death of Finn and Jess’s father, Finn goes to his father’s home in Mallorca to sort out the inheritance legalities. The problem is, his father’s new wife and daughter (Ruensa and Roze) are now living there. Are Ruensa and Roze genuine or are they after the house for themselves?!
I love books where people fight over money and I love this author so I was very excited for this one. I felt the vibe was different from the authors usual books and I love how to cover has colour in it!
I found the first three quarters easy to fly through and gripping. I was eagerly awaiting a massive twist and the author just randomly drops a massive, random, unexpected bombshell.
From then onwards, the story gets very weird and I am still undecided yet if it’s a very good weird or a very bad weird! Overall, I enjoyed this one but it’s not my favourite from this author.

A thrilling tale of manipulation and obsession impossible to put down.
Set in the island of Mallorca, Delaney delivers once again, creating a feeling of unease in a beautiful setting. With this group of ambiguous characters, no one can be trusted, no one is who they appear to be. As the story develops, Delaney creates a intriguing and deceptive story line that left me questioning all the characters, their motives and intentions. While I didn't find the characters particularly likeable, they are really well developed. Delaney gives a backstory for all the characters, leaving no detail out. The exchanges and interactions between the characters are very well written, and I was left with the feeling that there was a hidden meaning behind some of them.
There are quite a few twists and unexpected turns. I thought I had the ending figured out, turns out I didn't.
Read this is less than 24 hours. It's one of those books: quick and addictive.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the e-ARC!

This book had some great potential, I really did enjoy it however just past the half way mark it lost it’s way a bit and the ending was a bit of a let down and some parts were unanswered.
I give this one 3.5 stars!
