Fairly interesting and humorous look at the English, though it was quite repetitive in parts.
This book was ridiculously funny. However, it could have been a lot shorter- felt like it dragged on a bit
This book sits somewhat awkwardly in the middle between a scientific study and a popular non-fiction book (à la Bill Bryson).
Unfortunately, it is neither. For a scientific book, the text isn't rigorous enough and examples are too anecdotical, and for a popular non-fiction it is too tedious and convoluted.
Which is a pity, because it brings some illuminating and amusing observations about the essence of thee English nature - if someone actually manages to read the whole book.
Conclusion: Solid 3*.

Initially, you really have to sit down and read the introduction to get what Kate Fox is going to do in this book. But once you´re through that, an extremely practical research surfaces with hilarous examples, conclusions and references. She manages to make fun of the Engelish while being English herself and treat almost every aspect of English life (and puts it under a microscope). Very recognisable for people that have visited England, and very recommendable for anyone interested in English culture. It may be a bit slow at certain points, but for a scientific book it is very well-written and truly shows the English as the are.
