The pacing felt slow, but I really did enjoy it a great deal. The build meant the ending felt very deserved. The way Jack's character was not only revealed but devolved over the course of the book was very fun to read. Afterwards, I watched the movie and felt the movie did not come close to the book in terms of characterization, plot, build up, and agency, and it was disappointing! The book really was fun to read, and I can see myself rereading it again in the future.
