I like the. Over a lot
I like that this told a consecutive story. However this reads like it was still intended for tumblr. Some are just single lines with an italic title that seems meant to be with an aesthetic blog post.

“love does not need to be tragic in order for it to be good.”

I was going to rate it three stars but then remembered two poems 'what she still deserves to hear' and one more which I don't remember anymore. Both of them might have enough emotions but were very lazy pieces of writing.

i've been reading tons of poetry so i won't have a single unique thought in my head to fight off the depression, so this was a breeze to finish!

i wasn't initially a huge lovelace fan, but this collection was raw and real, somewhat unsettling in a way because it was so relatable. this collection narrates a toxic romantic relationship well enough, and has topics of gaslighting and cheating, among others. but by the end, it had switched to a more empowering voice, that was a little less monster, and more hopeful. i could relate to that part too. overall, this was a good one.

I always love Lovelace's poetry. She says so much with so little. The story she told in this book was so clear and heartbreaking. Of all the poems in this book, "darling, I am worthy" is my favorite.

So first off Hooray for me being able to read a physical book without my kids jumping on me, talking to me, bothering me, and all the things kids like to do when they notice you're not focused on them lol. This book title caught my eye and I wanted t read it, but I didn't know it was a book of poems at first. Every time I pick up a bk of poems I feel like an idiot, I just don't get it 99% of the time. So I wasn't really sure how I would like this but I'm determined to challenge myself and take on books that I usually wouldn't. And I'm glad I did. I won't say that I fully understood everything (though I think I did) but these poems were simple and understandable. I'm looking forward to reading the other book I picked up from the library from her.
