Jack Sparks is an out spoken journalist (and non-believer) who decides to take on the Supernatural. Then the Supernatural starts to return the favour...

Though the title gives away the plot, I couldn't stop reading this book. Jack Sparks is horrible but you just need to know what he is going to do next. I loved how the narrative changed from Sparks' manuscript to interviews with those he met on his journey. It gave you two takes on each scene and situation which I thought was a refreshing take on this genre. It also amplified your need to turn the page (and then the next one and the next one).

Fantastic concept. Addictive writing. But, be warned, the name Mimi will be changed for you forever.

An utterly engrossing read. Dark, funny and thoroughly disturbing.

I enjoyed it, but took far too long to get into. Neat ending

It sounded like a great idea but I hated it. It was not scary and it was not funny. It was a slog and suffers from very unlikeable characters.

A fun romp with an intriguing premise. And while the protagonist is not particularly likable — at least at first — his journey is quite enjoyable (for the reader)!

A really clever concept that was fun to read but it wasn't overly scary or funny, I was hoping for something more. I get the feeling that it might stick with me for a while though, definitely lots to think about - might even be worth revisiting in a couple of months.
Think this will prove to be a popular read, it really does have a interesting couple of twists.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book, and in parts I did. The scares were pretty good the ending was very fast paced. But at times I thought what was supposed to be deep was very eye-roll-y. You’re supposed to hate the main character for the most part, then pity him but I had a hard time as I usually like to connect to the main character. Maybe it’ll grow on me more after I think about it longer.
