The illustrations are really wonderful, but the story was all over the place. I'm not sure I fully followed all of the action, so it didn't hit at all. Even looking at the pictures, I don't quite get how everything was supposed to work together. There were too many odd threads and non-sequiturs. I'll definitely put it on displays and in a future mermaid book bundle, but I don't think I'd read it for story time.

Oh my god. This book is so cute, I am dying of cuteness. BIG HEART EYES. I fell in love with Oona and Otto from the first page, and it just got better from there.
I loved this sweet book! My two girls (ages 6 and 3) also loved it! The illustrations are absolutely wonderful and I absolutely loved the story of treasures being something you make.

Very cute story, though I found the plot to be a little meandering a vague in the middle. Love the illusatrations!
Much like Disney’s Ariel, Oona collects treasures from human world, but when a crown seems too elusive she uses her wits to catch her prize.

I really want to love this one. Figueroa’s illustrations are marvelous and delightful, but I’m left wishing DiPucchio’s story had the same fluidity. Sigh.
A gorgeous little mermaid with a crown of beautiful kinks and coils on an adventure. Short, sweet and simple.
