A little more violent than I've come to expect with this series.
These books always have twists that surprise me and are quite enjoyable. Plus they are dragons!
The audios are fantastic

This one is good, but Starflight's perspective comes off as a lot weaker than Glory or Tsunami's, so the main driving force here is the intrigue. On re-reads, though, you already know most of the intrigue, so the book isn't as enjoyable. The NightWings' territory is also less interesting than the Sea and Rainforest Kingdoms, and there's only one main supporting character (Fatespeaker), so there's less on that front.
Still great, of course, but not as good as some of the previous ones.

Loved it.
(Can't write more than that because the whole review I wrote got deleted by GoodReads and it took me so long to write it. My whole reviewing energy has been sucked out)

This series keeps getting better and better! I was a little nervous that I wouldn't like this one as much because it's narrated by Starflight and, until this point, he's been my least favorite of the Dragonets, but by the end of it he was one of my favorites! The amount of character development he goes through in this book is truly impressive, especially because it feels like such a natural progression of growth. Daenerys would be proud. I did kind of see the twist at the end coming, I think it was vaguely foreshadowed in the previous book, but that hardly took away from the shock of it anyway. I'm unabashedly into this series, and I can't wait to get started on the next one.

I am generally confused because this book is rated so high and I had big expectations. But it really fell flat from the rest of the series. The first three books were truly amazing, but this book was not as good as the initial ones were. The twists were obvious? and sadly since Starflight was separated from the gang most of the time we didn't get the original banter. Also, Starflight was not the most compelling narrator since he spent most of the time either thinking about how un - courageous he is or thinking of Sunny. I'm still excited for the next book though!

i can’t even decide which is the best book in this series that’s how good they are

This is an absolute fantastic character development story with focus on Starflight. There is so much amazing representation in this book, and it just comes wrapped up within the story. At the same time the story widens, the mysteries deepen.

Again, there is graphic violence in this book that I as an adult reader can deal with, for a middle grade reader I am not so sure.

Each book in the series so far provides a good opportunity to study individual characters and the tribes from which they come. This was a shorter, but compelling story.

This is the first series I've read where I'm not super frustrated with the author for a dissatisfying ending for a book in the middle of the series. It could be that I'm not super committed to it since it's a children's book. I have been enjoying the series, and love that there are graphic novel versions of the first 3 books (as of this review).
