I'm feeling very conflicted about this ending... The way characters got shoved aside just for the intend of proofing what was the author's plan all along feels unneccessary and tiresome to me...
Typical Sookie wrapped up in a little package with a pretty bow
A very anti-climactic ending to a long series, though all "loose" ends were neatly tied up. A very light read, and slightly predictable. Only worth reading the last 2-3 books just to finish the series otherwise not worth it really.
I am a little disappointed with Charlaine Harris right now. I loved her note in the beginning saying she wrote what she always intended for Sookie.....so I'm not too upset but still! To be honest I was half expecting some gruesome ending which personally I think would have been a better fit for the life Sookie led. Especially with her getting a will written in the last book. I knew for sure that meant something was seriously about to go down. But no....everything tied up nice and sweetly in a nice little bow. I was just ready for some main characters to be sacrificed. Honestly who cares about Bob, the former cat?
Not to mention how disappointed I am by who she ended up with, but i saw that coming. I knew Harris never intended to make Sookie a vampire in the end. Which I am totally grateful for. I hate that whole thing of the lead female having to give up everything just so she can stay with her vampire lover....who'll probably leave her after a 100 years. But Sam? I get it. He her friend and the main person who's consistently by her, plus she cant fully read his mind. But it just doesnt sit well with me. I never felt passion with them, even during that so called sex scene....quite awkward for me to read.
Overall, it wasn't that bad of a read. I liked that many character former characters came back to help tie everything up. I also liked that the story broke away from Sookie at times so we could get into the heads of our villains.
SO...good addition to the Stackhouse series but just not a great ending to it.

Idk how I feel about things ended with Eric but I knew Sookie didn't want to be a vampire so I guess that was the ont way they could be together.
Meh, it was not terrible. I hadn't read any of the other books in the series in over a year so I was lost.. a LOT on all the random side characters. I didn't find the overall plot to be all that interesting, but there is still an addicting quality to these books.
I mainly just read this so I wouldn't have this last book in a series looming over my head.

disappointing. The only reason I have persevered with this series is because I had already invested so much time on it. This book felt rushed and was poorly written. The loose ends were all tied up too quickly and the relationships in this book felt unrealistic with no build up.
It is basically an ending I expected. However, I wish there would have been a little more excitement. It seemed to be wrapped up in a tight little "plot ball" rather than something fun or exhilarating. Thirteen books later, I'm glad this series has come to an end.
Unlike many people I enjoyed the book. I wasn't totally satisfied with Sookie's choice of partner but I liked that there was not an Epilogue and that ,to me, there is no certainty that Sookie stays with him forever. I respect the author's choices and I think everyone should too.
In my opinion a moment of anger from the fandom is acceptable but more than that is an exaggeration.
