After reading the prior books in this series I have been excitedly looking forward to Azsote's story. He seemed like such a sweetheart in the previous books when we've seen him, and he didn't disappoint in this book. Azsote was a wonderful character that I thoroughly enjoyed. His love and devotion to Laura was beautiful, even when he thought she was going to leave him. Not gonna lie, I was dreading that Laura was going to chose to leave Earth and I'm so happy things worked out the way they did. I'm happy that Azsote got a mate, and that it was a woman like Laura was perfect.

Laura was a bit of a curiosity in the last book, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect with her. Her back story and learning about her along the way was a fun ride, and the decisions she made, made sense based on what we learned about her. It was nice to have an 'older' woman as the main female lead. I don't particularly consider her age as old, but given the world building in this series, it did sort of make sense that her age seemed to be such a big deal to her, though it obviously didn't matter to Azsote.

Story wise, we didn't really learn a lot as far as the human/Lurker plot line, but that was ok. This was a good story of love for Azsote and Laura, with the other couples and a few new Naga's thrown in. That being said, we were given glimpses of more human activity on Earth, as soldiers and such from The Dreadnaught continue to come down and try to settle a foot hold in the area. I loved seeing the battles between the Naga's and the humans, and hope to see more of the boys kicking ass in future books. It's worrying that the humans have retaken the facility and what that might mean for everyone if the humans are able to get into the sublevels where the biodome and labs are. I'm genuinely worried for the Naga's and it's been a long time sense a series/world has really taken a hold of me like this. I love it, but it's got my emotions all over the place; which really speaks to how good the world building, story telling, and characters are in this series.

I am so worried about Syasku, the Naga captured at the beginning of this book. I hope he's ok.

4 stars. I love the Naga Brides series but the repetitive nature of the FMC’s is beginning to get on my nerves. It’s the same woman in every book:

1. Desperate to go home
2. Naive as hell
3. Believes she knows best
4. Upset that the men do not understand human customs (ie: mating contracts versus having sex for pleasure)

I want to read a book with a FMC who is THRILLED to be with a Naga man! I don’t care much of the women who spent 97% of the book trying to get back to space, only to realize that everything they wanted could be found on earth. Give me a girl who’s obsessed with the naga, so much so that’s he’s like “wtf did I do to deserve such a female”

Wow. Top tier series for me. This book has it all for me. I can't explain how much I love this series! I'm obsessed! Full of adventures with just the right amount of romance and spice. Throughout the story, there was plenty of action, and every time I closed my Kindle, I couldn't wait to continue reading.

In this 5th book, it's finally Azsote's story with Laura. Azsote, who is sweet, caring, mature, yet possessive, definitely boyfriend material! Also, he has a dirty mouth

3.5 stars.

I liked it, I felt the romance took a backseat to community/friendship & it needed some more passionate moments, but maybe because she’s older & he’s very calm I dunno it just needed something more. I was expecting more drama surrounding menopause/her ‘child’/breeding, but he’s way to chill to argue lol

Love over 40 - naga style

Both of these MCs were precious in their own way. It was a nice change of pace to have a FMC that wasn’t a soldierly bada$$, but still independent and confident in her own way.
It wasn’t exactly shocking that Laura was the FMC in this book because she features briefly in the previous one. Azsote was controlled and mature, but naive in a few ways. They had a great dynamic and learned give and take over time.
