Better and Better

I am so hooked on these Naga Brides books! Each one just gets better and better.

I like Azsote is now my favorite. He’s got so much personality compared to the other nagas. I love the little bit of dirty mouth he’s got, too

"'Don't claim me,' I warn, frozen, too afraid to move. 'Don't you dare.' He cups my nape and leans back, taking his heat and his overwhelming presence with him. 'I dared.'"

This is definitely a guilty pleasure kind of series lol

If you've read Ice Planet Barbarians & loved it - I highly recommend the Naga Brides. Same sort of premise but with Naga instead.

I really enjoyed Laura as an FMC. Now that I think of it, she may have been my first FMC over 45 years old... Crazy. I'm not sure if their story was my favourite so far, but I had fun reading it anyways.

"Maybe I'm walking into a trap. I'm waiting for him to show me his grays when all I can see is green."

I also totally called it - the next book is meant to be Vivian & Syasku's story, and on the spaceship of course (honestly pretty proud that I guessed that, but it really just made sense). I will probably pick up the final two books (I think that's the end of it?), and read them whenever I'm feeling something short & simple.

Rating: 4/5 stars
Steam level: Multiple scenes with open-door content; kinky

Thoughts:
This story hit the ground running with great action scenes and a precarious introduction between both main characters. Despite how suspenseful and scary Laura’s circumstances were, her and Azsote’s introduction had the feel of a meet cute because of how natural, honest, and sweet their interactions were.

I enjoy this series because of the overarching story that connects each book. The way Lucas gradually reveals the secret of Earth, the Nagas, and the Dreadnaut creates such a suspenseful, foreboding feeling that significant change is about to happen.

Azsote is one of my favorite male leads in this series. He observes Laura lovingly, and the way he regards her is very endearing. There are lingering touches, appreciation of scents, and a lot of studying of each other’s features. The way Azsote and Laura shyly interact while gaining familiarity with each other is so sweet and revealed how preciously they thought of each other.

Similarly to the other Naga Brides books, Boomslang was deeply sexual, primal, and rough in many ways. It’s dark, and Lucas does a great job at world-building and depicting the differences between Naga and human culture. Seeing these differences come to life in the romantic and sexual scenes was very satisfying to read.

I would recommend this book to readers who like steamy sci-fi romances! This is not a standalone book.

Tropes: OTT male lead, dystopian, sci-fi romances, monster MMC, human FMC, cum play, kinky, panty sniffing, tail play, cozy and rough steamy scenes

Trigger warnings (spoilers):
SpoilerThe culture of Nagas is, in a way, harmful. Nagas value women, but they are regarded as property, in a way. This alphahole mindset has its appeals in fiction, but I wanted to make this known to other readers who might be triggered by these themes. Additional triggers include: Dark themes, dystopian, lighting, injuries, violence.
