Really great book and well thought out. My first Grisham read and will definitely read another. Didn't think I would like the political aspects of it but the twists and turns kept me interested.

With this one Grisham really disappoints. Slow paced and tedious in most of its parts. Being a big fan of Grisham, after reading this book I think he lost his magic touch.

After The Firm, The Client, The Runaway Jury etc. one expects John Grisham's novels to wow you, this one didn't. So the setting of the story is - the protagonist, max, a lawyer, is in jail for a crime that he did not commit, he rats out on a ex fellow inmate so get freedom and make a quick buck. This ex fellow inmate is a low rank mafia because of which max is in protective custody. This is the first part of the story. What happens in the next part of the story confounds you - you start to question why the hell is this guy doing this suff. Isn't he supposed to lay low and enjoy the reward money or something? In the third part things start to get a little clear. The plan that Max hatched up to get out of prison is an excellent one but the story sadly is not that entertaining.

A waste of my time.

Another great read by Grisham. Not a courtroom drama like we're used to with Grisham's other novels. In fact, there was not a single courtroom scene. The whole story takes place either in prison or outside of prison between a variety of states and countries. Malcolm Bannister settles an old score in the most creative and slick ways. This is a quick and easy read, recommended for all Grisham readers.

I miss reading Grisham! this was a good one, and a quick read

I miss John Grisham of old. I've tried a few, but they just aren't the same as his early stuff. I will say this one at least had a bit of a twist.

This was a pure delight to read. I read it yesterday in one sitting because I couldn't put it down and walk away. Not my favorite Grisham novel (that'll always be the Rainmaker) but it is definitely second. A real page turner that will keep you guessing what's on the next page.

By golly I actually finished a book!

Fast-paced and really entertaining legal thriller. One of the better John Grisham's I've read this year.
