So I loved the characters, but found it a tad predictable. But maybe that is because I have read so many books...

This is technically an epic fantasy series with lots of action and fight scenes and darker themes, but interspersed between the action were little cozy vignettes with sweet characters that I absolutely loved.

This is the first of 7 (not including novellas) in the Green Rider series and it is an excellent foundation to set up the rest of the series. I enjoyed the descriptions of the setting and the characters were interesting and multidimensional.

The beginning was a little slow for my taste (hence the lower rating) but the last 1/3 of the book more than made up for it! The climax was excellent and I loved the magic system.

Better than I expected after reading the review on Libby, but ultimately not as good as I hoped to find it.

A fantastic and thrilling journey. The story contains excellent world building and a dramatic tale.
