Okay, first introduction to this author and she hit all my favorite tropes in one, minus grumpy sunshine- but I'll live. Because this book was unputdownable. And it had a pretty decent story line, so it wasn't entirely character focused. There were some instances of suspense which was a pleasant surprise.

Noah, a young horse trainer from a well-known and wealthy family is the baby sister to four older brothers. She's had to carve her way through life and make a name for herself. One of the names she's made for herself is AJ...-Adrenaline Junkie. And you get to see that come to fruition in the third dang chapter. I won't tell you, but it will stay etched in my mind forever. Noah is a strong woman, she's feisty and loving and determined to go for whatever she sets her mind to... That is until she learns her latest endeavor is her Ex boyfriends famous bull riding DAD!

Fischer, is a grief stricken parent and has been fumbling his way through the last decade of his life. Having recently gotten his head back on track he sets out to right the wrongs and attempt to have a relationship with his son. That is until he falls in love with his sons ex girlfriend....

Noah and Fischer's chemistry is on fire, right out the gate. Their witty banter and dirty talk is spot on. By the end of the book I was loving their 8 second rule. Overall though the spice, the banter, the story line was top shelf. Definitely give this book a read.

the dialogue was a bit cringe and unnatural/choppy sometimes, the first half of the book was good enough to have me hooked but then the second half just bored me. just didn’t really enjoy the writing style.

Between the cheesy one-liners, a horse named ‘Taylor Swift’, the 8-second thing (like just why?), and literally the most boring chemistry found in a ‘forbidden’ romance, I’m over it

she fell in horse poop less than 100 pages in. dnf

Arc reader here! I ate this book up! Absolutely adored fisher and Noah’s story! Can’t wait for release day!

I absolutely loved Noah and Fisher’s story!!

Ex boyfriend’s dad, cowboy, age gap? Count me in. Noah has to be one of my favorite FMCs ever. She is young, but also bold, witty, confident, direct, and a successful as hell professional horse trainer at the top of her game. She meets Fisher one night at a rodeo and the two sleep together before she realizes that he is Jase’s father (her ex boyfriend).

Noah is then surprised when Fisher arrives to work on the Gibson ranch for her family. The story that unfolds from there is a true masterpiece. The world of Sugarland Creek is extremely detailed and you just want to teleport into the pages. Supporting characters such as Magnolia (Noah’s best friend), as well as Gramma Grace and other members of the Gibson family all bring some fun into the plot line but don’t overwhelm the FMC + MMC.

The banter between Noah and Fisher is GOLD and had me cackling. The spice, chemistry and tension between the two leaps off the pages of the story. It’s a beautiful tale of love after grief, not judging a book by its cover, and sometimes - if the match is right, love is more important than anything else.

I can’t wait for Magnolia and Tripp’s story next year!!
