This was a well-written book with a straightforward mystery. No twists or turns. There were about half a dozen suspects to pick from and all had fairly obvious motives. I just found myself waiting for the end to find out which one was the final answer because I was never quite sure which one was correct, all of them could have been. Kind of reminded me of a modern Agatha Christie without the closed setting.
I would definitely read her next book with the hope that the plot would be a little more intricate.

“But there are no redos in life. You can’t go back and make things better. All you can do is live with it and move forward.”
What an awesome book. It’s told with alternating points of view and I tend to fly through books written that way. This is the first thriller that’s ever made me cry. It tugged at this mamas heartstrings something terrible. The last few chapters are hard to read and the epilogue is powerful. Looking forward to reading more from the author.

For the most part, I did enjoy "The Night Olivia Fell" a lot, but only upon finishing it. It's the perfect audiobook to listen to while working out. I picked the title because it was highly recommended by a blogger I came across who we share similar tastes in books.
"The Night Olivia Fell" probably wasn't an exciting thriller in my honest opinion. The pace was S-L-O-W. Abundance of redundant information which had nothing to do with the plot if read AS A THRILLER. Those detail, however, were essential to the story development especially towards the end. To simply put, this is not just a thriller about whodunit, but also a story about family drama, teens struggle, love and grief. The execution of including so much into a quick read was ambitious but the author did a fine job stitching everything together overall. Like I said, the reading process at time seems slow but "The Night Olivia Fell" was a beautiful story about a mother and her child. My final verdict: I love the story enough that I will consider reading/listening to it again in the future.
Audiobook is roughly about 8 hours long. The narrators were spot on portraying the characters. Again, a perfect kind of book to listen to when working out. A solid 4-star rating.

I don't know if this book hit me more because I am a mom of daughters and now a grandma but I wanted justices for Olivia as much as Abi did. I loved the two point of views when telling the story. It felt like Abi's was better written than Olivia's but that could have been because the author was putting the story in a seventeen year olds hands and it came across immature. Can't wait to read more by this author.

This book was a little dull. I thought it was a very cliche and by the book story. I never got invested in any of the characters and didn't really care what happened to them.
The Night Olivia Fell is a mystery with a side of a teen pregnancy twist. While there are thriller aspects to this book, there is just as much centered on the inner-workings of Olivia’s family.
I’m normally racing through the pages of a thriller trying to solve the mystery, but this book felt different to me. I was more invested in the characters and felt a greater sadness about the fact that Olivia would inevitably die after spending much of the book reading flashbacks from her perspective.

Wow. This book is a great duel-narrative thriller/mystery. I loved how Ms. McDonald alternated between Abby's struggle to learn what happened to her daughter (now brain-dead in the hospital), and Olivia's tale leading up to the night she was pushed off of the bridge. Abby's determination to learn the truth kept pushing the novel forward, and Olivia's story kept the reader invested their story. I was guessing up until the end on whodunit. This book was page turner and an emotional rollercoaster. What a ride!
