Reeve and Audria hit it off from the moment she elbows him accidentally at the grocery store. While both are afraid to commit because her time in town has an expiration date, they simply can't resist each other. I absolutely love the innuendos and the FRIENDS references! I loved reading their journey!

Slightly predictable but still cute.

This is a small town, friends-to-lovers story that I absolutely loved. Audria is a city girl trying to make it in a country world. Thank God for Reeve. He steps in to help show her what country life is really about. The slow burn attraction, snarky banter, and sexy Reeve had me wanting to drive to Bampton Valley to live as a fly on the wall. This book had the most perfect date ever in it (truck bed blankets and stars) and who doesn't swoon over that?

I was given an ARC copy for a fair and honest review

I chose to read this book because I'm a born-and-bred Iowa farm girl where the story is set. Many times my state is not given the praise it deserves, but Ms. Rae does a stellar job describing the beauty of the countryside and the wonderful hospitality of Iowa.

With the crash of a shopping cart, the city girl and the country boy meet. The attraction is instant and they are inclined to be friends with benefits, but their idiotic plan backfires.

Audria is a sassy and witty city girl starting her first teaching job in small-town Iowa. She can easily hold her own in a new town full of matchmaking busybodies and precocious eight-year-olds, but it's the hot farmer with intense blue eyes and a killer smile that gives her a run for her money. Reeve is her own "personal country-living liaison" who is not interested in a serious commitment. But his love for his family and his romantic gestures towards her are sweet and memorable. So friends become friends with benefits, but can she stick with the agreement to keep her feelings out of it?

Reeve is not the relationship sort. He likes Audria's company. Her compassion. Her snappy wit. But she's a city girl and is leaving in a year when her temporary teaching job is done. So he introduces her to country living, and let's just say driving a tractor will never be the same for him again. However, new and terrifying feelings start to happen and he screws it up by making assumptions and making a crucial decision for her. Too bad it was wrong.

The chemistry between Audria and Reeve is sizzling and emotional. The never-ever dates he plans for her are delightfully countrified and Iowa-like. They include learning how to milk a cow, checking the hen house for eggs, calf roping, horseback riding, and eating BBQ, to name a few. Reeve may have a player reputation, but he turns out to be a good guy who loses his heart quickly and thoroughly. With that being said, more groveling was needed toward the end. Audria is fun and confident who settles into small-town life easily. The OTT hilarious and supportive Gavin stole the show for me and I would like to have read more about him and Bea. Maybe that's another book? (fingers crossed).

I recommend this charming and hilarious contemporary romance with likable characters and realistic descriptions of the lovely Iowa countryside.

Thank you to Ms. Rae for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

And the award for the most swoon-worthy book boyfriend goes to...
Reeve... Gah! He is the sweetest.

I loved Audria and Reeve's story.
Their easy banter, their flirty exchanges, their friends to lovers story. It all felt so natural.
Seriously, for someone who claims to not do relationships, he does an amazing job. The neverever dates, the things that accidentally fell out of his mouth when he wasn't censoring himself, it was all so romantic.
Until it wasn't. Until Reeve decided to be a big fat jerk.
I was happy to see Audria make him work for his redemption.

I loved the secondary characters - the girls (and Gavin), the sassy and feisty Gabby - they were all so interesting and added to the story perfectly.

4.5 stars

This small-town romance was such a sweet read and what I especially enjoyed other than Reeve, was that Audria was a city girl trying to find her way in the world after graduating college. She sets out to a teaching job in a small town and even if at first, she has her reservations she still takes it all in stride. I’ve read many books about big city person going to small town and that person always snubs the locals or their way of life, but Audria takes every experience as an adventure and it is so refreshing to see. When she meets Reeve, you can tell he is the local playboy, but something draws him to her, and he can’t resist even though he tries. Reeve tries so hard to be just friends with Audria, but once they see how compatible they are together the sparks don’t stop flying. Knowing their time together has an expiration date they make the best of what time they do get, and Reeve is just incredible. He shows Audria what small town life is like and he is absolutely swoon worthy even if he thinks he can’t do commitment. Audria knows her feelings are getting serious, but she doesn’t want things to end, so how can they possibly make things work or will they even make it work? Can Reeve let go of his commitment insecurities or will Audria decide that small town life is not for her? This was a very cute book and I absolutely loved Reeve because deep down he was a closet romantic that loved to spoil Audria on their never-ever dates.
