This was such a great story, one that I could not have predicted the direction it would go, which is my favorite type of story. All the twists and turns felt so organic and nothing felt forced. Some plot points were a bit convenient at the beginning to set up the rest of the story, but I ended up not minding that because the pay off felt so good. At a time where things feel heavy in the real world, I really appreciated a satisfying and full circle ending that gave me exactly what i wanted . I really needed that! The romance was so sweet and tender and the world beautifully written. Really happy I picked this one up.
Currently not in the mood for the story. Well-written but wasn’t exactly what I expected. Will probably return to it in the future.
This is a beautiful retelling with lots of adventure, romance, action, magic and more. We follow the life of young Xingyin as she discovers all is not as she once believed, and she sets out on a quest to save her mother from her imprisonment.
We are led on a beautiful journey where Xingyin learns to harness her magic, and use her body as a weapon. She makes friendships, falls in love. Journeys to so many incredible places, doing dangerous and incredible things. Betrayals and pain woven throughout.
Daughter of the Moon Goddess teaches us that it's better to be afraid, yet continue to do what scares us than to never try at all. Fear can be used as a weapon, but it can also be your biggest strength if wielded properly.
A honestly beautiful, heartwarming and heartbreaking story.

Might pick this up again another time, it was alright but I’d had it for almost 4 weeks from the library and felt bad for hogging it when I wasn’t in the right mood for it
This book had the potential to be really good, but it fell short for me. The first half felt very choppy, while the second half flowed a bit better. For a Romantasy, there was surprisingly little focus on the romance. The connection between the FMC and her two love interests was underdeveloped. Instead of showing how their relationships grew, the story skipped over those moments and just expected the reader to believe they were in love. Overall, it felt like the author tried to pack too much into a single book. Breaking it into at least two, maybe even three, could have given the story and relationships the depth they needed.
