Parts of this were really good and then other parts were just weirdly done. The pacing was so weird at the beginning, and then by the end, I had no idea how much time had actually passed the whole book. Some parts were super descriptive and then other parts were super glossed over. Still planning on reading the second book though.

the love triangle annoyed me so much but other than that the book was beautifully written and i couldn’t put it down. gonna read the second book next but i already know some stuff and im afraid im gonna hate the second book as much as i liked the first one.
This felt like 3 books in one. There were a lot of plots that differed greatly from the previous section. It dragged on a bit. I feel like TOG gave similar vibes. The magic system was cool. I got slightly confused with how the celestial, mortal and demon planes were set up and getting from one to the other. I wasn’t expecting Wenzhi to be “the bad guy” but I also thought that Xingyin would be persuaded that the so called “demons” were actually good. And Wenzhi didn’t do that. Maybe in the sequel? I’m glad Liwei stood up for her but also I didn’t want him to be the end game love interest because his parents are so horrible.
i loved this book it’s os well written and the story just flows so good
