A fun read and a well-woven tale. The world building could be a tad stronger and the MC does unfortunately suffer from every-hot-guy-falls-in-love-with-me syndrome, but the magic lore and the glimpses of the history of the world are brilliantly crafted.

A incredible weaving of Chinese myth and lore into a tale of courage, honor, and honesty. The heroine never falters, recovers from failure, and is able to see herself. The last 100 pages moved this rating from 4 stars to 5- what a battle!
