This was jam packed with adventure! Loved the fast pacing. It wasn’t often that I felt bored, just during times when Xingyin went on a tangent about her feelings. Some stuff was predictable and also felt like some of the problems got resolved too easily.

The romance bit frustrated me some because she was so oblivious to her feelings as well as those of others but, she was just a teenager… I think? Teens tend to stumble over love a bit more than adults do.

There were themes of family, duty, honor, and identity. I’d also like to add that she HOPEFULLY learned her lesson to not trust so easily and figure out what she’s feeling quicker. One could only hope…

I’m willing to read the second book for some more adventure.

“We should appreciate the flower, regardless of its roots.”

The world building is so lush and detailed! Slow to start for me, but probably because this story was so big that it was like 2 books in 1. This only got more and more interesting as it went on

What a lovely book. A true fairy tale of the finest caliber. It was so human and yet so magical. I would follow Xingyin across the universe and back.

It was a fun read :)

Nie każdą bitwę wygrywa się brutalną siłą - czasem to woda niszczy kamień

Rating: 3.75?????

I have never wanted to like a book more than I did with this lush story. Daughter of the Moon Goddess has so much potential, and I can definitely see why people like it so much.

On one hand, the atmosphere is beautiful. The writing is gorgeous. The first 100-200 were an absolute delight, but somewhere along the way...I just wasn't vibing anymore.

I can't pin point an issue specifically. Like I liked the characters, I liked the storyline and even had no problems with the time skips. But I wanted more. I wanted more intensity, more action.

There were so many romantic arcs, but none that excited me. None that felt fully fledged.

So overall, I think my high expectations could be to blame.
