I generally enjoy books inspired by Chinese mythology, and this was no different. While it wasn’t a spectacular read for me, I truly have nothing bad to say about it. The writing is beautiful, the mythology is rich, and I enjoyed following all of our main characters through their journeys.
The big twist genuinely shocked me, which was such a pleasant surprise. And I’ll admit—my ship happened, which always guarantees a happy ending in my book. Overall, it was a solid and enjoyable read that left me satisfied and curious about where the series will go next.

Plus a star for an amazing and creative story. I was enthralled by the mythology and creationism stories. Minus a star for the writing, not my style and too in her head. Show me, don't tell me. But beautiful nonetheless and would definitely recommend.
