6/24/18 age 7 - Ramona goes as a sheep to church to do the Nativity play. She said she wouldn't be a sheep, but then she did be a sheep because she had makeup on, so she thought her parents would not recognize her.

Listened to the audio book and absolutely loved it. I think it's my favorite Ramona book. The family faces some hardship, but they hold strong together. The ending is a beautiful Christmas scene that is perfection.

The first Ramona novel to deal with more issue-related topics, such as unemployment and smoking in parents, Ramona and Her Father deftly explores these subjects through the eyes of 7 year old Ramona, making the topics relatable and not so scary and daunting to children of a similar age.

The kids and I love these audiobooks. We always have laugh-out-loud moments and anything they want to keep listening to is a win for me!

I didn't remember as many of the events within this book as fondly as in the two preceding it, but it is still nearly as wonderful and charming. Ramona's father losing his job and struggling to quit smoking are interesting story avenues for the Quimby family that create many opportunities for discussion. To this day, I always remember Nosmo King whenever I see a No Smoking sign, and to my chagrin my son immediately latched onto the "99 Bottles of Beer" song.
