WHATTTTTTT

OK I’m dying to say this but if she doesn’t end up with Sel, I will freak the hell out. ““No other Merlin can protect you like I can, because no other Merlin feels about you the way I do. I want you to live, because I want you to be happy. Not because of a spell, but because so very many things would break and go dark if you weren’t in the world. Myself included.””

Like seriously!

Boring Nick doesn’t do crap this whole book and she’s still debating between the two ??

I have to think that our amazing author is building up all this context and tension on purpose. There’s no way she spends a whole book making us fall in love with sel, for Bree to choose nick ? Right? Someone please help calm me down

Now for the rest of the book! It’s brilliant and so beautifully written. Bree is an amazing character and I love the side characters like William and Alice.. I’m dying to know what happens next

Deonn, once again, has written a pretty great book; she manages to weave together a fun fantasy story and serious real-world issues into a deeply engaging narrative!

Some people may have some issue with pacing, maybe saying it suffers from second-book syndrome, but I enjoyed the exposition, learning more about the Table, the Order, the Rootcrafters and the Regents. To be fair, I am the type of person who really enjoys lore dumps, especially in fantasy.

Also, again, I would encourage every reader to also read the Author's Note at the end of the book.

There also are some really great scenes with the Bloodwalks and these once more cement the Sel-Nick-Bree dynamic as one of the most interesting in the YA genre!

I'm really looking forward to the third entry into the Legendborn series, especially after that ending...
