DNF- I really tried to finish this book and gave it all the chances, this book is just not for me though. The characters are very surface level and a bit winy in my opinion. The plot is very abrupt as well. Over all not for me.
lighthearted
Bex and James were extremely irritating. A lot of nonsensical reasoning and just bad decision making. Hated it

I had read books 2 and 3 of Grace’s Beyond The Play series before picking up book 1, so going back to the beginning was a little strange at first! I am so thankful to have gotten this audiobook ARC from Grace and Valentine PR and really enjoyed James and Bex’s story!
James is the star quarterback for his college football team and looking for zero distractions in his final season before he heads to the NFL draft. Bex is over football players- her last boyfriend was a football player who cheated on her and won’t leave her alone even after the break-up. When James needs tutoring, Bex steps up. In exchange, they fake date to keep Bex’s ex off her back. As we all are very familiar with the fake dating trope, I’m sure we can all predict how that turns out. I love how James is so supportive of Bex and the future she could have. Bex has had a tough life so I was cheering for her the whole book to follow her dreams of photography and being with James.
I loved this book a lot and also highly recommend the following two books in the series that are out currently that follow James’s 2 brothers!

sweet
The story was well written and very entertaining. The female main character came across as annoying at times due to overthinking. The story dragged at parts so I had to walk away from the book. When I finished the book I felt like something between the main characters was missing. I got it in the epilogue and the extended epilogue. Which I feel should have just been included in the book.
