This was an interesting read. I liked the setup of the book, which is interview style and compiled of multiple people’s perspectives. There’s also a bunch of mystery underlying the story because you see emails between the author and the writer that add present day depth. I wasn’t a fan of the ending - I felt it came out of nowhere and was very abrupt. I wanted the reveal to be deconstructed more and get more of the motive behind everything. It seemed like a very throw-away ending, almost like we got to the big reveal and didn’t know what to do to tie it up.

Overall, this was very interesting and I had s good time with it, but it won’t be a book that I really think about afterward.

This book totally blew my mind. Clever, addicting, and filled with unreilable narrators (my favourite), it's told in a sequence of interviews and mixed media. It kept me guessing until the very end.

Loved it. Loved the concept of the book and how it was written/ how the author incorporated himself into the book. Felt like a true crime documentary. I was an Easy and fast read. I couldn’t stop ready because there were So many turns of event but that also made it  a bit exhausting/confusing and hard to keep up with everything.
Unsure about the conclusion/ending… and how reliable the author really is

A genuinely beautiful book. I couldn't put it down, reading 100+ pages a day (over double what I'd normally do). The mystery sucks you in but then the characters and their growth keep you hooked. Could not recommend this more highly

I decided to read this as I enjoy the interview format when I'm in a bit of a reading rut, Daisy Jones & the Six kickstarted a lot of reading for me last year. This was an easy to read story and I liked the premise. It wasn't bad by any means I just felt the characters were a bit caricature-y and all of the women in the story except the shallow character were 'troubled women' who's actions were often motivated by men or were victims of men. I know this is a reality for many women but it was not explored in any sort of nuanced way. I don't usually read books written by men and felt I was very aware of this fact. I liked hearing from Evelyn the 'author' during the progression of the book but the ending felt abrupt and the insertion of Joseph Knox as a character was unwelcome.
