So I was definitely expecting something slightly more racy, based on her previous novels and I was able to figure out fairly early on the twist at the end. But I enjoyed the book over all.

Well, that was tense and stressful, with a side of heartache. My goodness. Erin Watt knows how to twist my insides up. I had to read fast before my heart exploded.
This book was about forgiveness and love and how, no matter what happens, you need to have both if you're going to be able to move on.
What a wild ride. I was cheering Beth and Chase on the entire time. I realize they both made mistakes, but I'd like to think that they made the right decisions when it counted. They focused on moving forward and trying to find the best of this situation.
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Oh! So much angst! And I had a great time drowning in it. I felt the pain and the loss and the injustice, but I will say the plot twist was easy to spot. Still enjoyed it, and the ending left me with stupid grin on my face.

Thanks to the authors for an arc!!
I just devoured this book in less than 24hours! Erin Watt writes such real characters that I cannot get enough of. Beth's life completely changes when her sister dies. Her parents keep her safe in the only way they know how - by keeping her on lock down and monitoring her every move. She responds by sneaking out to a party and meets Chase. Little does she know that he is the person she should hate the most.
What follows is a wild ride of forbidden romance, atonement and forgiveness. Beth's knee jerk responses to her parents overprotective actions are spot on and I definitely connected with her, having done my fair share of rebellion in high school. I loved it and could not put it down until I finished the last page!

liked it! first half kinda slow but second half was good.
This book was so so so good! After reading The Royals, this wasn't what I expected from it, but this was so much more and maybe even better. The subjects that this book touched upon were definitely loaded and I think that the authors handled it so well. This story let me feel all kind of things, ranging from anger to happiness to being speechless. Both Chase and Beth really grew on me, I know that the story has ended, but I wouldn't mind reading more about them.
Wow, this book was so good! Right from the beginning I was sucked into the story, wanting to know what was going to happen next. I actually read it in one sitting...started it just before I went to bed and didn't put it down until I was finished at 1:30am! I loved Beth as a character and really felt for her. She went through a lot but I think she handled everything well for a 17 year old high schooler. I disliked most of the supporting characters, but sadly I think they were realistic. While I liked how the book ended, I wouldn't mind seeing further down the road...what hapoens next. I could definitely go for a sequel! I'd read it in a heartbeat!
Thank you so much to Harlequin Teen & NetGalley for the advanced copy!

The author did a great job of making me feel for the characters. When Beth's parents went way overboard with her and took her door off and put sensors on everything, I was so mad on her behalf. When Chase was totally wracked with guilt over the accident with Rachel, I almost cried. This was a good story with great pacing. I never felt like it was slow or dragging, I actually couldn't believe when it was almost over. I can't begin to understand what it's like to lose your child, but Beth's parents definitely needed counseling or something to help with their grief and anger. When Beth's dad kept going after Chase, even though he paid for what he did and was already punishing himself, I felt for Chase. He didn't deserve to be treated that way.
This was a good book and I enjoyed it.
