such a whimsical read, i loved it so much! this book was filled with fantasy, mystery, and a bit of yearning. evangeline fox was such a feminine and kind character. i absolutely loved this book and the characters in it. i ran to my local book store to grab the second book in this series!!

I read this because I was influenced to do so. It was meh, and cringy at times. I listened to the audiobook and every time Jacks said "little fox" to Evangeline, I cringed so hard. Reading it is one thing, but listening to it is another.

This book is an ok surface read. “Jacks did this and then I did that and then she said something” but it doesn’t give you any back story, zero world building so you don’t really know what’s going on aside from the present page, not a very in depth book. The story was good enough I wanted to know what happens, but was super disappointed to get to the end and still not have any answers. Not sure I’ll read the next ones to find out.
