Wow this was a good one! The plot great, MMCs really played their part. So I feel bad for Story, yes, but man did the author leave you wanting more! The ending leaves you on a cliff hanger introducing the main reason why Story went to the MMC’s. The details all tie together nicely and you don’t know who to hate and who to love the entire book. I know mine kept switching around. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!!
The beginning of this book i nearly dnf. This begins as non consensual. Even the first 50%. I found it rather triggering the way women are spoken about and treated in this book. The ideologies these men have disgust me. Simply seeing a woman as a hole. I felt pure, burning, female rage. But as time goes on Story finds power in her sexuality. Definitely not on board with the amount of spicy books which are now being written about step siblings. No thankyou.
On the contrary, I am excited for the next book. The absolute betrayal that story must be feeling. I'm oh so very excited to see her rage.
I want to brutally murder killian. He never gives story the time of day to explain what happens, completely ignorant and dismissive. The things she went through ?? even his own dad caused her harm. Yet it's her fault ?? i can't even fathom the rage i feel from the injustice. Pure hatred. Can't tell if i want to smack or kiss tristian. Probably both. But he does genuinely begin to care and try to make up for his mistakes made. Which in no way makes up for it. But the effort to change and do better is there. Rath, now i don't think he can do any wrong in my eyes. He's the typical quiet, dark broody character that is certainly not quiet in bed. I want to protect this man at all costs but also headbutt him. But also listen to him play piano and teach him to read. Back to Killian. May he burn in the fiery pits of hell.

I picked this up again knowing I had already read it (but can't find record of when I did) and although I know what's coming...I am STILL. EATING. IT. UP! The way Killian, Rath and Tristian (Killian especially) treat Story...UGH! I just wish that she had told them what was going on!!
I don't know how she does it but Angel Lawson manages to show Story as both strong and vulnerable. She is a survivor and at this point we only get to see little glimpses but that is what keeps the reader going!

Enjoyed it. Finally picked up a book I was able to fly through again. Left on a cliffhanger which I hate but loooove. Still somewhat annoyed at the fact the FMC and the men seem to all still …. Dislike eachother.

I loved this series. It was exactly what I needed to get me out of a book slump. The only thing that I could not get down with is the constant use of "spunk." Took me out of the moment quite a few times. Otherwise, I had a good time.
I liked how “to the point” this book was. Not a lot of filler. Not too long. The plot is insanely predictable but it’s entertaining. Team Killian cause I love me some enemies to lovers.
Also, this book made me laugh out loud several times. I loved the scene with the letter that said “you’re mine, whore” from the stalker and one of the guys said “are you sure *you* didn’t write this, Killian?” because LMAO that is so descriptive of his character. he’s a literal barbarian.
