I absolutely love this book series. It’s the warm fresh bread vibe on a cold day. Sadly this third edition to the series didn’t hit the mark for me.
While it was enjoyable, it was very different to the others. There was very little of the loveable bakery, and instead followed a whole other storyline regarding family we had never heard of.
Easy read and enjoyable enough but don’t expect it to be like the others

Cute story, if you can get past how horribly it was written

So happy to be back with Polly, Huckle, and Neil, I adored this story! I always appreciate the depth Colgan is able to bring to these stories. The conflict developed so naturally and I kept reading to find out what would happen next. Mount Polberne is a magical place and I always enjoy the time I spend there.

Chirp Audiobook

Re: the audiobook. Do the British really think US Southerners talk like Huckle? Even his name is ridiculous. I’ve grown up in the south & I’ve never met someone who is that much of a hick except on television. And her Jewish character is an awful stereotype. The parents & husband are seen as avaricious. Kinda racist, just sayin’.

The story is ok. I enjoyed it well enough. I’ve gotta say, not a fan of cheating. One of the main storylines is a character that cheats & doesn’t know who fathered her baby. The husband is clueless, & even though we’re supposed to dislike Reuben, he was very sweet to his wife. When he was made aware how upset his wife was when he missed his anniversary, he cut his business short & came right home—to his wife who had just got hot & heavy with a stripper.

Polly was allowing herself to be pulled in several different directions, but it was for a good cause & I don’t know if I would have done differently. Her fiancé is feeling neglected. He could have gone with her to Reuben’s house?

The story of Huckle & Polly was a good one. I could relate & feel it wrapped up nicely.

Het was vermakelijk, maar ik begin Polly minder leuk te vinden en ik vraag me af of ze het echt geheim gaan houden…
