This is a book that were it not for a challenge I probably wouldn't have picked up. Why? Well, honestly I can't tell you. Maybe the title put me off a little, and the cover model seems quite young, which is also not necessarily my cup of tea. But if I hadn't read it, I would have truly missed out. This was an absolute gem of a story.
Maybe it all sounds a bit cliché. The nerdy guy which anxiety issues who doesn't think he's good enough. The jock (although I didn't find Law to have any "typical" jock-style behaviours, lol) who needs help... But let me assure you, this is definitely not a cliché book. The way the characters are written, the way they interact with each other, the way the story unfolds, it's like a dance. A perfect waltz. A balance of style and grace, with humour, seriousness, sexyness, sweetness all mixed together to make something beautiful. Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop. And when I reached the end, I was sad our time together was over. For me, that makes it a perfect tale!

A cute, drama-free, tooth-rotting fluff that I absolutely need because I'm too stressed lately. The banter between Andy and Law is funny, Law is extremely swoon-worthy and I like that the writer doesn't portray the original crush as a bad guy. I just wish Law's thoughts can be further explored since he mentioned that he's not in the best state to get involved in a relationship due to his career. The epilogue is adorable, but the huge time jump didn't give me enough closure.

“I’m in love with you. And I know I promised there wouldn’t be any feelings and shit, but I failed. So...oops?”The story was really enjoyable, but definitely nothing particularly new. I’d still absolutely recommend it especially if you enjoy snarky comments and big hockey loving people that are actually the sweetest you can imagine.
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 Rounding Up!
The plot of this book is not a new concept. I’ll just put that out there.
And yet...
I thought it was absolutely adorable! Maybe because I’m a sucker for all the tropes used here. Maybe because I desperately needed something light, fluffy and low angst. (My current Hazard and Somerset book has been heavy!) But I think it’s more than that.
The writing was solid. I couldn’t believe this was a debut novel. It was fun and hard to put down. The characters were likable and lovable. The steam to plot ratio was just right and there was a bit of a slow burn but not sloth or glacier slow.
I’ll be keeping an eye on this author. I hope to see more from her.

Darling couple, cute dynamic. Very little angst. Very slow burn. Took a bit to long for their relationship to take a meaningful turn. I liked it, glad I read it, an easy read. Cute banter.
