This is such a sweet love story between two guys! Andy is adorable in his geekyness; awkward in a lot of situations, but once in a while willing to try new things. He's funny and often has an appropriate response, even if he's not aware of it. Law is caring and supportive in everything he does. He's trying to make Andy see that he's perfect just the way he is, that he doesn't need to change. I love both characters!

I've been laughing out loud several times during reading, and otherwise had a stupid grin on my face. I didn't want it to end, but at the same time I couldn't stop reading. The only thing I might "complain" about is the very detailed sex scenes. It's justified though, so I can't really complain, and there's always the option to skim those parts if one wants to.

I received an ARC of this book and I'm so glad I did!

This was super cute.

I would like to personally thank Briar Prescott for writing this very cute story where characters make sense and I don't have to shut off my brain so that I can keep up with the character's logic. Preach.

It was really refreshing to read a m/m romance where the characters' sexualities weren't a main plot point. It was never even expressly mentioned that the characters were gay and there were no uncomfortable "coming out" scenes.

*SPOILERS*

I also really enjoyed that it was the macho/alpha/top that broke the fwb promise first. It's usually the other way around and I liked seeing the role reversal with Andy having to be the one to take charge at the end instead of Law.

***high-pitched squeal*** This story was so cute, I just can’t handle it.

It was light, easy, and angst free.

Definitely super predictable but that’s okay because the characters were so adorable that reading their specific story made it worth it.

Loved the banter. Andy was so precious and Law so perfect.

IF YOU SEE THIS, PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK ON MY NEW RATING AND REVIEW SYSTEM. IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD ADD, CHANGE OR REMOVE TO IMPROVE IT? PLEASE AND THANK YOU, LOVELY READERS.

**Level of Smut is referring to how to tame vs explicit it is, which is why I went with this rating system. THIS IS NOT A RATING ON HOW MUCH I LIKED THE SMUT. Kissing and/or making out does not count as smut. Also, when I say ‘sex scene’, if someone has an orgasm, I’m considering it a sex scene; no matter how they get there. G (Score of 1) - No smut PG (2) - 1 sex scene books PG- 13 (3) - 2 sex scene books
R (4)- Your standard 3 sex scene book. These generally aren’t as long of sex scenes or as descriptive.
X-Rated (5) - all the good stuff is in here, baby, and a hell of a lot of it. This would also mean that the story is extremely descriptive, as well.

*** Quality of Smut is referring to how well the smut is written, according to my tastes. I have certain words and kinks, etc, that I am not a fan of and will automatically drop it down if I see it. That may not be the same case for you. I’ll try to include my reasoning if there’s anything specific. (A+ = 5 - E = 1)

**** Did it Make Me Sweat ;) ? Tbh, did it turn me on? Did I want to read more and more sex scenes (The answer is almost always yes)? This is different from quality because of the simple fact that the smut doesn’t ALWAYS have to be A+ quality to make me sweat… or does it??? I guess we’ll see.

4 Stars

Wow this was so cute! Andy and Law just make me smile. Law is such a great person and Andy is so adorable with his nerdy quirks.

The thing with this book is I wish there was more showing Law's relationship with his family and same goes for Andy, I felt like we just got one interaction with both and then that was it. I think to have a more deeper feeling from me about their relationship with their parents it would have been nice to see more interactions with them.

Also Andy should have had a little more interaction with Falcon to show how he is and what Falcon is like with him, I mean we got a little of that in the beginning, and then not so much for the rest of the book. I wasn't the biggest fan of Falcon to begin with, so the author did something right with me not rooting for that relationship to start.

I think that Law was such a great character he was supportive and caring and all around swoon worthy. I really enjoyed when he and Andy were together.

The ending did feel rushed from when it ended to the epilogue, I wish we could see a little bit more with Law and Andy as well as how Falcon took it.

I can't wait to read what else Briar Prescott has to offer, this being her first book, makes me really excited for what is to come from her!

Highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a friends to lovers/ tutor/ help your crush like you but then end up falling for you instead tropes then this is for you!

BRIAR PRESCOTT FOR THE WIN for the third time! Seriously, where did this author come from?! The first two books I read of here “The Happy List” and “Rare” were such gems, with “The Happy List” working its way into my top 3 books of the year so far. In “Project Hero” we have Andy, a fluffy haired skinny college student who has resigned himself to being the sidekick. Until he decides he wants to become the hero, and tell his best friend he has feelings for him. Law just needs a tutor for his hockey team, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make the brilliant Andy be that tutor, including helping him turn into the “hero” and helping him make the move on his friend. As it is, Law grows feelings for Andy, no surprise there. But Prescott has a way of writing longing and angst that doesn’t make you want to shove your head into the sand and scream. Once Andy finally wakes up, the last few chapters of this book are beautiful and that epilogue is *chefs kiss* guys really if you have kindle unlimited and you like happily ever afters that the characters really have to WORK for look up Briar Prescott and her work.
