i don't think i would ever read this again, but i appreciate how the story unfolded and the fates were soo interesting and scarlett's whole storyline was fascinating and honestly? i could have done without tella and legend completely haha
really wish from the bottom of my heart that legend had died 🙄 and like. stayed dead, obvi

Hmmm… Where to start? I’ve put off posting this review because I’m not quite sure what to say… But, here it goes:

This book just felt sloppy. For starters, the repetitiveness was enough to drive me insane! I understand that some recapping in the first few chapters is sometimes necessary to catch the reader up to speed about things that have happened in previous books... However, the recapping and repetitiveness was consistent and excessive all throughout the book and I found it incredibly annoying.

The plot was also a bit all over the place, and I am not a fan of how everything ended. I still have questions and certain things felt glossed over.

I still find Scarlett extremely unlikable and annoying, although she did become less annoying towards the end.

I still loved Tella’s character, even though she felt like a watered-down version of herself in this book. I’m also lowkey mad at her for the way she treated my man Jacks lol (#TeamJacks)

I guess if you count how many times I say “annoyed/annoying” in this review, that about sums up my feelings for this book.

Overall, this book put me in a weird place and I’m really bummed that I didn’t like this series as much as everyone else seems to…

𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙤𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨. 𝙄 𝘿𝙄𝘿 𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮 𝙞𝙩, 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣, 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙨 𝙄 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤.

I know there’s a spinoff series, but I think I need to take a little break before I dive back into this universe.

I really enjoyed this series! This book was PACKED with action and information. It was also a bit more focused on the relationships between the characters than the first two were. I think that annoyed me because at some points I was all, “IS THIS REALLY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO TALK ABOUT RIGHT NOW?! THE WORLD IS ENDING, PEOPLE.” Other than that, I like how the series ended, although it did seem to conclude very quickly. There was also a slight plot hole I noticed that took me out of the story for a hot second. It’s forgivable, though. Overall, I loved this series as it was super entertaining and had very creative world-building!

Very hard going, almost Dnf'd. Not a bad book but feel I may have enjoyed it more if I was in a different headspace.
